![]() ![]() I'm implementing this by setting up a task using Gulp and then making VSCode aware of the task, but flagging that task as a test task. In this post I want to show how you can trigger all your unit tests to get run using a keyboard shortcut in Visual Studio Code as well. In my last post I showed how I setup Visual Studio Code to support debugging a Yeoman generator to easily stub out a Node.js web server locally that can serve HTTPS requests: generator-nodehttps. I'll definitely be replacing it with a Cherry Clear (rest of the keyboard is browns).Blog Speaking Publications Voitanos Podcast About Running Mocha Tests with Visual Studio Code It is the primary offender in the previously mentioned ringing. I don't find myself actuating it accidentally, but I would prefer it to be a little stiffer. The spacebar is just a little to light for me. It's just slightly annoying but not a deal breaker for me. I'm sure there's some additional padding that would help with this and I'll probably look into it in the future. It's just kind of a high-pitched frequency that resonates for a split second after each stroke that bottoms out. There is a very slight ring when typing. It was on one of the 2u keys, which I read was not uncommon, but it was a bit of a surprise for my first foray into hot-swappable. When swapping one of the keycaps, I managed to pull the switch out with it. ![]() I guess I don't have to worry about it coming unplugged. I don't think there was a risk of damage, but I just noted that it felt pretty snug. Plugging the USB-C plug into the keyboard port took a nearly concerning amount of force. Can't complain, but wish they would have all been double shot. 2 of them were double shot, one was dye sub. Really appreciate the free bonus of 3 "very random" keycaps. The return modifier cap was already installed (the original one was included in the box), I added the backspace, escape, and numpad return. I like they way they stand out from the rest of the board. They are a slightly darker green with red legends. Some different color modifier keycaps were included. As expected, the middle setting is the best for me. The 3 level adjustable feet are a very nice touch. The included USB-C cable is braided and color matched and came with a silicone(?) cable tie. Color scheme works great and is very zen. The keyboard was heavier than I expected and has a solid feel. There were a few very minor issues that you might not see on higher end keyboards, but considering the affordability they are completely acceptable in my opinion. I will try to remember to update when I swap them out! I'm not sure if it's just the lower "thocky" noise they make but it is disappointing since I am not sure that changing the switches will resolve this issue. But the spacebar and backspace are super loud. Even with the non-silent switches, the noise level on this board is surprisingly quiet compared to other mechanical keyboards I've used with the same switches. My main complaint currently is how loud the spacebar and backspace keys are when compared to the other keys. The feature I'm finding I really adore is the calculator key on the top right function row since I'm constantly opening the calculator application and this reduces the number of keystrokes I need to take! ![]() Overall, the out-of-the-box experience of this keyboard is quite nice! The keys themselves are pleasant to type on, with a dry matte texture. That being said, I am taking into account that the keys I am currently using are louder than I prefer for a work setting and not including that in my feedback. *Note: I subbed the silent reds for standard since I knew I planned to switch out the keys and the board would ship faster if I did so.
